Overview
Who uses it, what it does, and where it fits.
Summary
The Bellaex corn flaking machine produces uniform, low-fines steam-flaked corn for cattle feed, dairy rations, and feed-mill lines. The FC Series spans 13 models from 30 to 350 TPD (1–15 TPH), built around centrifugally cast, chill-hardened high-Ni-Cr-Mo alloy rolls, a rigid base, and square bearing housings that help hold roll alignment for consistent flaking, shift after shift. Bellaex has shipped flaking equipment to feed producers in 50+ countries.
At a glance
- Capacity: 13 models, 30–350 TPD (1–15 TPH)
- Grains: corn, plus barley, oats, soybeans, black beans, green peas
- Hydraulic roll-gap control for in-operation thickness adjustment (select models)
- Centrifugally cast high-Ni-Cr-Mo alloy rolls; SS304 product-contact surfaces
- Based on a patented in-mill metal-removal design; PLC hydraulic pumping station
Applications & Fit
Applications: livestock feed production (beef and dairy cattle), integrated feed-mill lines, ranch HIO farm-flaking packages, and pre-pelleting / TMR plants.
Materials: corn, plus barley, oats, soybeans, black beans, and green peas — confirm recipe and target thickness per grain.
Suitable for: operations that need uniform, low-fines flakes at a steady throughput and want in-operation thickness control. For grains other than corn, settings and target thickness are confirmed per recipe.
How It Works
In a steam-flaked corn line the flaking mill sits after cleaning, tempering, and steaming: conditioned corn enters the roll gap and is pressed into uniform flakes, which then move on to cooling, storage, TMR mixing, or pelleting. It can run as a standalone machine in an existing feed line, or as the core of a complete steam-flaked corn production line.

ADVANTAGES
Why it performs in daily operation.
Precision Hydraulic Gap Control
The Bellaex corn flaking mill features precision hydraulic gap control, enabling roll-gap adjustment during operation with PLC-based manual and automatic modes (select models). The micro-adjust mechanism is based on a patented design (Chinese Utility Model ZL 2011 2 0467883.9).
Core Advantages
- On-line thickness tuning — adjust flake gap without stopping to help keep throughput steady.
- Repeatable quality — hydraulics help hold roll parallelism and minimize thickness drift across shifts.
- Faster changeovers — switch recipes with fine, dial-in control instead of full stops.
- Lower energy and wear — accumulator-based, intermittent pump logic helps cut run time and heat.
- Safer, simpler operation — manual/auto modes with PLC interlocks and clear readouts.
SEW-Driven Feed Roll
The Bellaex corn flaking mill uses an SEW-driven feed roll to support flake uniformity and a stable feed bed.
Core Advantages
- Even, continuous feed — builds a stable bed into the nip, helping reduce surges and gaps.
- Uniform flakes, fewer fines — consistent presentation across the roll face supports thickness repeatability.
- Fast capacity tuning — VFD speed control and a hydraulic gate let you match throughput without stopping.
- Handles recipe changes — groove geometry and gate opening adapt to grain type and moisture.
10,000-Gauss Metal Guard
The Bellaex flaking mill is engineered with particular attention to roll protection, with a metal-guard system that captures tramp metal before the nip. The design is based on a patented in-mill metal-removal device (Chinese Utility Model ZL 2007 2 0016151.1).
Core Advantages
- Helps prevent costly roll damage — captures screws and iron before the nip to help avoid chips and crashes.
- More uptime, fewer emergencies — helps reduce unplanned stops and weekend rebuilds.
- Consistent, low-fines output — protects roll surface and parallelism for uniform flakes.
- Configurable — standard permanent magnet, with an optional 10,000-gauss high-intensity upgrade.
SS304 Contact Surfaces & Service-Friendly Design
The Bellaex flaking mill uses a hygienic, safety-focused design built around SS304 product-contact surfaces, helping maintain stable operation under demanding conditions while reducing downtime and rework.
Core Advantages
- Hygienic by design — a fully enclosed housing with SS304 product-contact surfaces helps preserve feed quality and speeds cleaning.
- Stands up to washdowns — SS304 product-contact surfaces and the enclosed housing withstand steam and washdowns, helping reduce rust-related downtime.
- Consistent flake quality — a rigid base and square bearing blocks help maintain roll alignment for uniform thickness and fewer fines.
- Fast maintenance — large access doors and a service-friendly layout speed roll changes and inspections.
- Cleaner, safer plant — High-grade sealing retains steam and dust, improving air quality and protecting adjacent equipment.
- Consistent flake quality — A rigid base and square bearing blocks maintain precise roll alignment for uniform thickness and minimal fines.
- High uptime, lower cost per ton — Robust mechanics and wear-resistant components cut unplanned stoppages and rework.
- Fast maintenance — Large access doors and a service-friendly layout speed roll changes and routine inspections.
